Fire Protection Engineer, Bethesda, Maryland
Primary job function and scope
My client is looking for a highly motivated Fire Protection Engineer to add to their team.
Responsibilities include:
•Study, evaluation, design, and construction administration services of fire protection systems on a variety of laboratory, healthcare, federal government and educational facilities.
•Capability to perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems and prepare construction documents (drawings + Specs) for fire protection systems.
•Review, analyze, and establish NFPA codes and other fire protection/ life safety codes\ standards requirements for each specific project.
•Perform QA/QC of Fire suppression, fire alarm and detection systems design work
•Capability to participate in project teams and serve as the primary fire protection engineering contact with clients. Resolve customer concerns, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend
remedial measures.
Education and Experience :
7+ years of fire protection engineering design experience.
Minimum B.S. Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent .
Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and other fire protection/ life safety codes and standards.
Good communication and time management skills.
Excellent work ethic and attitude.
Proven ability to successfully lead teams and manage projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Revit is a plus.
PE License is required.
Experience with Lab/Medical Facilities design is preferred.
